Two Suspects Arrested For Burglary In Frederick County

About $3 million in jewelry was stolen.

Frederick, Md (KM) Two West Coast residents are charged with jewelry thefts in Frederick County. The Sheriff’s Office says Demarco Coney-Jones, 29, of Las Vegas, and Akayla Tuttle, 22, of San Diego are charged with 1st-degree burglary and theft of more than $100,000. .

Both are being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without bond.

On August 18th, 2023, deputies responded to a residential burglary in the Urbana area where the suspects stole $3 million worth of jewelry from the victim’s home.

A Sheriff’s Office detective, Josh Stears, worked with the FBI’s Baltimore Office and identified Coney-Jones and Tuttle as the suspects. They were arrested on August 28th, 2023, during a search and seizure operation in Las Vegas. Authorities found most of the stolen property along with illegal firearms and U-S currency.

Both suspects were extradited back to Frederick County on September 1st, 2023.

“This case is a great example of the teamwork completed by Detective Stears, fellow detectives assigned to the FCSO Criminal Investigations Section, and the FBI Baltimore, Las Vegas and San Diego Field Offices,” says Lt. Andy Crone, FSCO Criminal Investigations Section commander., “They stayed on top of this case until the suspects were arrested, and the case was solved.”
