Ellicott City, Md. (BW)- A man has been arrested and charged following a hit and run that killed a woman in January
22-year-old Da’quan Smith was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter by vehicle, as well as other offenses.
On January 20, 77-year-old Soon Ja Chung was crossing Baltimore National Pike in a crosswalk near Ridge Road when she was struck by a Nissan travelling eastbound. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop.
Chung was taken to Shock Trauma where she was pronounced dead.
The Nissan Smith was driving was determined to be stolen from a neighboring area.
