The tax rate will remain the same.
Frederick, Md (KIM) The City of Frederick is ready for fiscal year 2025. According to the News Post, the Board of Aldermen on Thursday approved a budget totaling $223-million dollars, with $152-million dollars allocated for the general fund.
The new spending plan adds 33 new full time positions in city government, .including the police department. There are also funds for sidewalk repair, and improvements to the Jefferson Street Corridor.
In a separate vote,, the Aldermen adopted an ordinance setting the property tax rate at 73-cents per $100 of assessed value. That rate has remained the same for the past 12 years.
Fiscal year 2025 begins on July 1st..
