Lunches for children at 9 locations across Frederick County over the summer
Frederick, MD (JK) – Frederick Department of Housing and Human Services is participating in the Summer Food Service Program and will offer children free lunches on weekdays from June to August at seven places in Frederick and one place each in Brunswick and Walkersville.
Meals will be provided to all children without charge.
The program will provide the meals beginning June 10 and continuing through Aug. 16, 2024, at the following locations:
Frederick Locations
- Hill Street Park Pavilion, Hill Street – 12:30-1:30 p.m.
- College Estates Park, Taney Avenue – 12:15-1:00 p.m.
- PAL Center, Sagner Avenue – 12:00-12:30 p.m.
- Carrollton Park, Center Street – 12:00-12:45 p.m.
- Windsor Gardens Apts, Key Parkway – 12:00-12:30 p.m.
- Amber Meadows Playground Pavilion, Amber Dr – 12:00-12:30 p.m.
- Ballenger Creek Park, Ballenger Creek Pk – follow signs 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Brunswick Location
- Brunswick Library, North Maple Avenue – 12:15–1:00 p.m.
Walkersville Location
- Discovery Community Center, Stauffer Avenue – 11:30-12:30 p.m.
The lunches will be served Monday through Friday except for Wednesday, June 19th and Thursday, July 4th. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
