Arrest Made In Montgomery County Cold Case Homicide

The suspect was apprehended in Washington DC.

Gaithersburg, Md (KM) Montgomery County Police have identified a suspect in a 23-year-old cold case homicide. Eugene Teodor Gligor, 44, was taken into custody on Saturday, June 15th in Washington DC by US Marshals. Authorities in Montgomery County say they  have obtained  an arrest warrant for Gligor, charging him with 1st-degree murder.

On May 2nd, 2001, police responded to the home of Leslie Preer in the 4800 block of Drummond  Avenue in Chevy Chase after she failed to show up for work that day,. Preer was found deceased, and her death was ruled a homicide.

Detectives say they were able to identify Gligor as a suspect following DNA analysis of evidence found at the scene.
