He is scheduled to be sentenced n October.
Baltimore, Md (KM) Sentencing is scheduled for October 10th, 2024 for a Hagerstown man who has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. Chad Christopher Langgle, 30, entered the plea Thursday in US District Court in Baltimore.
The US Attorney’s Office for Maryland says Langgle in his plea admitted he e-mailed 50 videos depicting child pornography. Federal officials say Langgle also had images of child pornography on his cell phone, and additional videos in an e-mail account.
Langgle was previously convicted of sex abuse of a minor and 2nd degree assault on a minor in Calvert County Circuit Court; and was also convicted of 2nd-degree sex offense in Saint Mary’s County Circuit Court.
Federal prosecutors say Langgle could receive 20 years in prison and up to a lifetime of supervised release when he’s sentenced.
The US Attorney’s Office says this case was brought about as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide program launched in May, 2006 by the US Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project, led by the US Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, brings federal, state and local resources together to locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children. It also identifies and rescues victims.
