Traffic Stop In Frederick Leads To Three Arrests

One was a juvenile for weapons offenses.

Frederick, Md (KM) Three people were arrested Thursday afternoon in Frederick following a traffic stop, .including a 17-year-old boy who is charged with weapons offenses.

Police say the traffic stop occurred in the area of Madison and Carrollton Streets because the driver failed to stop for a detective’s car which had activated its emergency lights and siren,. He continued driving to the area of Logan Street and Sherman Avenue before stopping.  . The operator, Anthony Lee Ferguson, 19, was immediately detained.

A Detective Sergeant noticed a 17-year-old boy had all the indicators that he was armed., and was able to detain him. Authorities say three discarded handguns were found along with  a fourth handgun  located  nearby. One was reported stolen in Virginia.   The youth was charged as an adult at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center with firearms offenses..

Officers and detectives also found a third suspect identified as Daeante Xavier Sewell, 22, hiding in a backyard. He was issued a criminal citation for 4th-degree burglary as he did not have the owner’s permission to be on the property.

Ferguson, the driver,  was also issued  citations for fleeing and eluding and operating an unregistered vehicle
