Frederick, Md (KM) Public input is being sought by Frederick officials on a project to identify sites in the city associated with slavery. The goal of this historic context study is to help close the gap in scholarship related to the history, heritage and culture of African-Americans, and the institution of slavery.
An outreach event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24th from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at the City Hall Annex at 140 West Patrick Street in the main meeting room. Those who come will hear from cultural and resource specialists, EHT Traceries and about early research efforts. The public is invited to attend and provide input, and suggest areas for further investigation.
