Two women were charged following a traffic stop.
Eldersburg, Md (KM) Two women were arrested on Wednesday afternoon on drug offenses following a traffic stop in Eldersburg. .
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says deputies with Pro-Active Community Enforcement (PACE) were on routine patrol near Liberty Road and Oklahoma Road at around 3:35 PM when they noticed a Kia Sorrento with expired registration and some equipment problems. The vehicle was pulled over.
A passenger identified as Vallira Sage Crystal Rice, 33, of Baltimore was found to have an active warrant, and she was taken into custody. Deputies searched the vehicle and found 47 capsules of suspected fentanyl weighing 18.6 grams; one baggie of suspected loose fentanyl weighing .8 grams; 108 baggies of suspected crack cocaine, weighing 19.5 grams; and 3 glass vials of suspected crack cocaine weighing 6.9 grams, along with suspected drug paraphernalia. . .
Rice is charged with two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of drugs (not cannabis) and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Also arrested was the driver, Deanna Marie Rudisill, 44, from West Virginia. who is charged with one count of possession of drugs (not cannabis) and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies say she had a single capsule of suspected fentanyl on her person.
Rudisill was released on bond. Rice remains in custody at the Carroll County Detention Center.
