He was arrested on Wednesday.
Westminster, Md (KM ) A Sykesville man was arrested on Wednesday by Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies. Liam Ranario Greeley, 28, is charged with eight counts each of possession of child pornography, and distribution of child pornography. He is currently being held without bond.
The Sheriff’ Office says in August, 2024, the Carroll County Advocacy and Investigation Unit began to look into possession of child pornography on line, and later found evidence of distribution.
With the Assistance of the Carroll County Crisis Response Team, the Unit served a search warrant on Greeley’s residence on Thursday at 5:00 AM and confiscated electronic devices. They. will undergo a forensic analysis.
In its news release, the Sheriff’s Office says the Carroll County Advocacy and Investigation Unit coordinates with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. It’s a combined law enforcement effort involving police agencies from all over Maryland which is made possible by grants from the Governor’s Office on Crime Prevention, Youth and Victim Services, and a federal grant from the US Department of Justice.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force works on identifying those involved in child pornography through the Internet and other related crimes that victimize children.
