Potomac, Md (KM) Some stranded kayakers were rescued on Sunday on the Potomac River in Montgomery County by a Maryland State Police helicopter.
Trooper Three based in Frederick was dispatched and conducted hoist missions with assistance on the ground from Montgomery County swift water rescue personnel. Officials say the helicopter was called out due to rough waters where the kayakers were stranded.
The crew of Trooper Three conducted three separate hoists, rescuing four people.
They were taken to Loudon County, Virginia where they were attended to by fire and rescue personnel there. None of the rescued individuals were reported injured.
