Hagerstown Police Apprehend Suspect Wanted For Rape, Assault

He was taken into custody  Friday morning.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) A man wanted by Hagerstown Police for raping two girls was arrested Friday morning. Officers took Luis Fernando Parada, 26, into custody at Fairgrounds Park after receiving a tip from a citizen.

Parada is charged with numerous offenses including 1st-degree rape and 1st-degree assault. He was taken to Hagerstown Police headquarters for questioning, and then to the Washington County  Detention Center.

Authorities say they are not aware of any other criminal events or sexual assaults involving the defendant. But anyone who has additional information, or is a potential victim is asked to contact Detective Vogel with the Hagerstown Police at [email protected].
