Frederick Police Report Increases In Airbag Thefts

Authorities say thieves are mostly targeting Hondas.

Frederick, Md (KM) There’s been an increase in airbag thefts in Frederick. Police say thieves have been specifically targeting Hondas. They break into the vehicles and take the airbag from the steering wheel column. These airbags are then sold to retailers and suppliers.

Citizens who live in the Wyngate and Carrollton neighborhoods, and other parts of the city who have information or video surveillance which could help in this investigation are asked to contact Frederick Police. Residents can call the Department at 301-600-2102. Anonymous tips can be provided by calling 301-600-TIPS (8477). Citizens can also send  their anonymous tips by e-mail at [email protected]. They can also send their tips via   text to 240-674-TIPS (8477).
