Clarksburg Teenager Charged With Second Shooting

He is being held without bond.

Gaithersburg, Md (KM) A 16-year-old boy from Clarksburg is facing additional charges in connection with a shooting in August. Montgomery County Police say Jaiden Ochieng has been charged with attempted 1st-degree murder, motor vehicle theft and several firearms offenses.

On August 8th, 2024, officers responded to the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown for a shooting, In that case, a blue Honda Civic drove by the victim who was sitting on a park bench. An individual got out of the car, and began shooting at the victim who managed to run away without injuries. Investigators say they learned the car used in this incident was reported stolen from Clarksburg.

Ochieng is also charged with attempted first-degree murder for a shooting on Archdale Road in Germantown in March.

He was taken into custody on Copper Ridge Road in Germantown on September 8th, 2024   Police say when Ochieng was apprehended, he tossed away a handgun. A ballistic analysis determined the weapon was used in the August shooting.   It   was  reported lost in Prince George’s County.

Ochieng is charged as an adult, and is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
