Wolfsville, Md (KM) A mountain fire along the Appalachian Trail kept fire fighters busy Monday afternoon. Personnel from Frederick, Washington and Franklin Counties were dispatched to the scene.
The fire was spotted by a Maryland State Police Helicopter pilot who said it covered approxamiltey 200 to 400 yards.
Officials say the fire was located northwest of Wolfsville along the Frederick and Washington County line. . An estimated 15 acres were affected by the flames.
About 100 fire fighters from Frederick, Washington and Franklin Counties remained on the scene during the afternoon to keep the fire from spreading.
Officials say no structures were threatened, no injuries were reported.
