House destroyed by fire at 21053 Boonsboro Mountain Rd.

Boonsboro, Md (KM) There were no injuries from a house fire near Boonsboro on Wednesday afternoon.
Washington County fire officials say units were called out to a home at 21058 Boonsboro Mountain Road shortly after 3:00 PM, and found heavy smoke showing from the home. A tanker task force was requested to provide water to douse the flames. There was also a woods fire nearby, and the incident commander requested two brush trucks.
The First Hose Company of Boonsboro says much of the fire was brought under control just before 4:00 PM. Damage is estimated $90,000 to the structure, and $10,000 to the contents. .
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. But local fire officials say it appears the fire originated in the kitchen area, and was due to an electrical failure.
The house had no smoke alarm, fire alarm or sprinkler system, fire officials also say. .
The Red Cross is assisting the home’s occupant. .
Some Frederick County fire fighters also helped put out the flames from this house fire.
