Hagerstown Police Arrest Suspect In Shooting Earlier This Week

The victim in that incident was shot a second time this week.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Hagerstown Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting earlier this week. Cameron Taylor Cross, 27, of Hagerstown was apprehended on Friday at 9:30 AM   He’s charged with attempted 1st-degree murder, assault and numerous weapons violations

Police say Cross was spotted by officers in the unit block of Randolph Avenue. He fled on foot when he saw police, and ran between a house and tried to hide. Authorities say an officer  found Cross. This time, police  say, he displayed a handgun, and eventually dropped the weapon. . Officers say he resisted arrest for two minutes before being  placed in handcuffs.

Cross is currently being held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center.

Police say he was arrested for a shooting which took place on Monday, November 11th in the 100 block of West Bethel Street. The victim identified as Kenneth Tyrone Jackson, 26, of Hagerstown was struck in the leg. He was treated and released.

Jackson was also the victim of a second shooting that same week. Police say he was found with a gunshot wound to his shoulder early Friday morning. . Jackson was taken to Meritus  Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say they do not believe these two incidents are related, but the two suspects are probably known to Jackson.

The investigation continues into both incidents.
