Montgomery County Police say he was speeding and had consumed alcohol.
Gaithersburg, Md (KM) Montgomery County Police have charged a Laytonsville man in connection with a fatal crash earlier this year. Isaac Tomas Pellegrino, 29, is charged with homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities say in July, 2024, Pellegino was operating his Kia Stinger northbound on Goshen Road in the Gaithersburg area. The vehicle collided with a Hyundai Venue which was heading southbound and operated by Yanique Tyshay Jones, 25, of Rockville,
Jones was extricated from her vehicle, and taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Detectives say Pellegrino’s vehicle reached a top speed of 69 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per hour speed zone. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.19.
Police arrested Pellegrino on Sunday, December 8th. He was released on bond pending trial.
