Frederick, MD – A powerful winter storm swept through the region on Sunday and Monday, leaving behind over 5 inches of snow and prompting widespread closures. Schools, county governments, businesses, and organizations were forced to shut their doors due to hazardous conditions.
According to weather officials, snowfall totals varied across the region. In Maryland, Montgomery County recorded the highest amount with 8 inches, followed by Howard County with 7.5 inches. Frederick and Washington Counties received 5-inches, West Virginia saw over 5 inches in Jefferson and Berkeley Counties, while Loudoun County received 7.5 inches of snow.
