Frederick, Md I(KM) A Prince George’s County man is going away to prison for a long time. In Frederick County Circuit Court on Monday, Tully Hamilton Washington, 47, was given 14 years incarceration for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. He was convicted on that charge on June 23rd, 2024 by a Frederick County Circuit Court jury.
The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says Washington was charged following a Frederick Police Tactical Investigations Unit search and seizure operation at a home at 618 North Maxwell Avenue on July 8th, 2023. Officers say they recovered 15.9 grants of cocaine in a closet in a bedroom where he was staying.
Authorities say Washington’s cell phone contained text messages which indicated the defendant was involved in drug trafficking. The search of the contents of Washington’s cell phone was authorized by a search warrant signed by the Circuit Court.
“Motivated by greed, these criminals destroy lives, tear apart families and wreak havoc on our community,” says Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith, in a statement. “This sentence and the efforts by ASA {Assistant State’s Attorney} {Paul} Tumulty show that those who traffic in highly addictive, illegal drugs will be held accountable here in Frederick.”
Assistant State’s Attorney Paul Tumulty represented the State of Maryland in this case.
