This follows a vote to transfer Frederick City property to the County.
Frederick, Md (KM) Citizens will get a chance to offer feedback on a new westside regional library in Frederick. The Library System will hold a public meeting on the proposed new facility on Thursday, February 13th, at Butterfly Ridge Elementary School at 601 Contender Drive beginning at 7:00 PM..
In addition to library system officials, architects from Dewberry Architects and the County’s Division of Public Works, Department of Engineering and Construction Management, will be on hand to explain the features of modern libraries. The public will be invited to offer feedback through hands-on exercises.
The land for the 15,000 square-foot facility is located at 501 McCain Drive. It’s currently a park. .It was turned over to the County on January 4th through a vote by the Frederick City Council.
The Public Library System says work will begin on the design phase, and that’s expected to continue over the next year.
“FCPL is thrilled to be able to work with this engaged and passionate community to bring library services to West Frederick with a new branch,”: says Library Director James Kelly, in a statement. “We look forward to hearing from the public at the community input meeting next month.”
