Man Arrested After Home Invasion In Frederick County

Frederick, Md. (DG) – A home invasion early Sunday morning leads to the arrest of a Washington D.C. man.

At around 12:15 AM deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery in progress at a home in the 5600 block of Doubs Road. when they arrived they heard gunshots from inside the residence.

The victims, found in their vehicle in the driveway, reported that two armed suspects had forcibly entered their home, holding them at gunpoint while demanding drugs and money.

Authorities quickly established a perimeter, deploying a K-9 unit to track the suspects. Two individuals matching the victims’ descriptions were located on Doubs Court and arrested. One suspect, found with gunshot wounds, was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Further investigation led deputies to a nearby gas station, where two more suspects were identified. While one was apprehended without incident, the other fled in a vehicle, sparking a pursuit that extended into Montgomery County and Washington, D.C. The fleeing suspect’s vehicle was later found abandoned, and the driver remains at large.

The victims declined medical treatment.

31-year-old Darius Jones of Washington D.C. was arrested is charged with armed robbery, firearm use in a violent crime, and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon. Jones is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
