Boil Water Advisory Issued For Sam Hill & Manorwood Communities

Officials say it’s due to a water main break.

Boil Water Advisory
Water main break on Sam Hill Drive
If you live in Sam Hill Estates or Manorwood, you should boil your water for 1 minute before using it to prepare food, brush teeth, make into ice, or drink. For information, call 301-600-1825.

Frederick, Md. (KM) If you live in the Sam Hill or Manorwood communities, you’re advised to boil your water until further notice. The Frederick County Division of Water and Sewer Utilities says there was a water main break in the community of Sam Hill Estates.

Residents could experience changes in water pressure or a complete loss of service.   County officials say this loss of pressure could result in bacterial contamination of the pipes.

Crews are responding to the water main break along Sam Hill Drive, according to the Division of Water and Sewer Utilities.

You’re urged to bring water to a full boil for at least one minute which will make it safe from contamination. But remember to let the water cool before using it. This covers water being used for cooking, food preparation, brushing your teeth, drinking and making ice cubes.

County officials say you can use the water to bathe or wash up without boiling.

The Division of Water and Sewer Utilities, the Frederick County Health Department and the Maryland Department of the Environment say they are monitoring this situation, and will lift or revise the boil water advisory as necessary..
