Frederick Teenager Charged In Shooting Incident In Hagerstown

He was arrested Tuesday at Tuscarora High.

Hagerstown, Md (KM)  A Frederick teenager has been charged as an adult in connection with a shots-fire incident in Hagerstown earlier this month.   Kenwon Addison, 17, was taken into custody on Tuesday, January 21st at Tuscarora High School by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office without incident.

Hagerstown Police say Addison is charged with:

3 counts – 1st deg assault

3 counts – reckless endangerment

Firearm use in course of a felony

Handgun on person

Loaded handgun on person

Handgun in vehicle

Loaded handgun in vehicle

Possession of firearm / prohibited

Illegal possession of ammunition

Hagerstown Police also say Addison was taken by Frederick County Sheriff’s deputies to the local Detention Center. He was later transferred to the Washington County Detention Center where he’s been held.

On January 17th at 11:00 PM, an officer in the Jonathan Street area heard gunshots. The Emergency Communications Center also received calls from citizens about gunshots in that area.

Police responding to the area of Sumans Avenue and Wheaton Park found shell casings, but no one was hit,. and no property was damaged.

Surveillance cameras helped officers identify the vehicle and the  individuals involved.  Authorities say it appears the shooting was the result of a dispute between people on the scene who knew each other.
