Taneytown,, Md (KM) Authorities in Carroll County on Tuesday arrested a suspect involved in drug dealing, and confiscated quantities of narcotics and two ghost guns. Amir Marquise Cole, 25, of Taneytown was taken into custody during a traffic stop outside of a home at 29 East Baltimore Street, Apartment 1. Police say they found 17 grams of suspected cocaine.
Cole was taken to the Carroll County Detention Center where he’s being held without bond.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says authorities also served a search and seizure warrant on the home at 29 East Baltimore Street, Apartment 1. They located marijuana, cocaine, mushrooms, scales, packing materials, illicit paraphernalia and $3,930.00 in cash. . The money is indicative of the illegal sales of controlled dangerous substances, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Police also found an unregistered ‘ghost’ AR 15 pistol platform with no serial number or manufacturer information, and an unregistered 3D printer ‘ghost’ Glock-style firearm with no registration or manufacturer information. Detectives believed these weapons to be loaded, and additional ammunition for these firearms was recovered.
Cole faces 22 charges, including two counts of possession a firearm in a drug trafficking crime; two counts of possessing a firearm without a serial number; two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute (not cannabis); possession of cannabis with intent to distribute; and four counts of possession of narcotics (not cannabis).
He’s also wanted in Pennsylvania for drug distribution.
This investigation was a coordinated effort between the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Carroll County Drugs and Firearms Trafficking Task Force; and the Pro-Active Community Enforcement (PACE) Team which consists of personnel from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and the Westminster Police Department under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN).
The Taneytown Police Department also assisted with this operation.
