Westminster, Md. – Deputies from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Carroll County resident on Friday, January 31, 2025, after an Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation developed evidence of distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material.
The suspect is identified as Maxx Vincent King, 21, of Westminster, Maryland. King is charged with ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography, ten counts of Distribution of Child Pornography, and one count of obstructing and hindering. King was transported to the
Carroll County Detention Center, where they were held without bond after their initial appearance with the District Court Commissioner.
Beginning in November 2024, the Carroll County Advocacy and Investigation Unit initiated an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material online and later found evidence of distribution. At about 5:30 a.m. on Friday, January 31, Carroll County Advocacy and Investigation Center detectives, with assistance from the Carroll County Crisis Response Team and Westminster Police Department, served a search warrant at the identified residence of the suspect. Electronic devices were seized at the scene to allow for further forensic analysis.
The Carroll County Advocacy and Investigation Unit coordinates with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This is a combined law enforcement effort involving police departments across Maryland that is made possible in part due to grant funds provided by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth and Victim Services and by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. Task force investigators focus on identifying those involved in child pornography via the Internet and other related crimes that victimize children.
