Frederick, Md (KM) The public is invited to a kickoff meeting on Wednesday, February 19th on the Frederick County Career and Technical Education Master Plan Study. It’s scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM at Winchester Hall.
“Frederick County is a leader in Career and Technical Education in Maryland, but we know we can do even more to harness our greatest assets—our ability to form partnerships,” says County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, in a statement. “We are excited to develop a multi-master plan to maximize space, programmatic planning and funding for CTE that spans K-12 as well as secondary and continuing education partners.”
Recently, the county entered a partnership with BerryDunn, an award-winning accounting and consulting firm. The company will examine CTE resources, programs and spaces. All this while planning for industry growth, population changes and workforce needs. It’s also expected to meet the requirements of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.
This effort will also include participation by such stakeholders as Frederick County Public Schools, Frederick County Workforce Services, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and other members of the community.
The meeting will give citizens a chance to learn more about the master plan and share ideas for the future of the Career and Technical Education programs . The County says the goal of the meeting is to share information about this initiative, and start to collect feedback to ensure the right programs are offered in schools.
