Two Outside Fires In Frederick County Thursday Afternoon

No injuries were reported from either fire..

Frederick, Md (KM) Fire fighters in Frederick County were busy on Thursday afternoon putting out two outside fires.

Just before 3:00 PM, personnel were dispatched to Route 75 at Jones Road right behind the Libertytown Fire Station for a brush fire. They found one-acre of woods and grass on fire.   A tanker and brush trucks were requested. The Frederick Scanner says the fire was brought under control just before 3:30 PM, and extinguished just after 4:00 PM

At around 5:15 PM, fire fighters were sent to the 5600 block of Burkittesville Road for an outside fire. . They found 30 to 40 hay bales on fire. The Frederick Scanner says workers piled up the hay and let it burn for a while. Then fire fighters doused the fire with water. The smoke from this fire could be seen a distance away from the fire scene.

No injures were reported from either fire.
