Fire Fighters Battle Garage Fire In Frederick County Monday Morning

Smithsburg, Md (KM) Fire fighters spent Monday morning battling a garage fire in the Smithsburg area. .

The Frederick Scanner reports the calls went out just before 10:00 AM for a house fire in the 14100 block of Loy Wolf Road..  Upon arrival, fire fighters found a detached garage fully involved in flames with the fire getting close to a second structure. . They requested a tanker task force to bring in water. .

Officials say there were multiple hazards in the interior of the garage, including welding products and electric wires arching. Defensive operations were conducted.

Units responding to the fire scene on Loy Wolfe Road from Black Rock Road were advised to be cautious due to a cow in the roadway.

The blaze was extinguished by 10:30 AM, according to the Frederick Scanner.

The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
