Elections officials say it’s needed due to an increasing turnout in the Primary Election.
Frederick, Md. (KM) A fourth early voting center will be available for the General Election in Frederick County. Election Director Stuart Harvey says it will be located at the Middletown Volunteer Fire Department Activities Center at 1 Fireman’s Lane in Middletown.
Harvey says this additional center is needed. “Early voting, this year in the Primary Election, was about double what it was four years ago,” he says. “Based on that, I projected that there’s going to be a fairly substantial increase in early voting for the General Election. And the Board thought it be an excellent idea to put in a fourth early voting location in the Middletown area.”
The other early voting centers are located at Frederick County Department of Aging and Senior Center at 1440 Taney Avenue; The Thurmont Regional Library at 76 East Moser Road, in Thurmont; and the Urbana Regional Library at 9020 Amerlung Street, Frederick.
Early voting will take place from Thursday, October 27th through Thursday, November 3rd from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM each day, including Saturday and Sunday, October 29th and 30th.
Election Day in Tuesday, November 8th. The polls will be open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Harvey says citizens cannot vote at the early voting centers on that day. They must go to the polling places near where they live.
