BRUNSWICK, Md. (DG)-Brunswick residents elected a new mayor on Tuesday.
Brunswick Mayor Karin Tome lost her re-election bid to Councilman Jeff Snoots.
Snoots received 682 votes, compared to 611 for Tome.
In the Brunswick City Council race, incumbent Angel White, Vaughn Ripley, Tom Smith received the highest number of votes to fill the three positions.
White received 820 votes, Ripley 640, and 580 for Smith.
Election officials said 1,293 people cast ballots in Tuesday’s election. This was nearly double the turnout from 2012.
