She takes over on Mon., Aug. 8th.
Frederick, Md (KM) There’s a new director of the Frederick County Division of Citizens Services. During her public information briefing on Thursday, County Executive Jan Gardner announced that she has named Dr. Monica Grant to take over the Division, starting on Monday, August 8th.
“I am confident that Monica will be an excellent leader over the many departments and public services offered in our Citizens Services Division,” Gardner said in a statement. “Her management and budgetary skills are an excellent match for this important position, and her experience with the Heath Department and knowledge of county government will be an asset.”
Dr. Grant has served as the director of the Developmental Center of the Frederick County Health Department since 2004. During her time, county officials say she oversaw more than 80 staff members and a $7-million budget. Her responsibilities included the Infant and Toddlers Program, which provides early intervention for young children. In addition, Dr. Grant directed the dental program, which provides oral health to uninsured children on medical assistance.
“I think it’s important for people I’ve worked to know that I have enjoyed a tremendous honor of being the leader in the Developmental Center,” says Dr. Grant.
As director of Citizens Services, Dr. Grant will oversee seven departments, including Aging, Housing and Community Development, Human Relations, the Office for Children and Families, the Child Advocacy Center, Family Partnership and the Scott Key Center.
