They were apprehended following a traffic stop.
Frederick, Md (KM) A man and a woman were arrested Friday night for possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Richard Allen Mayhew, 39, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and Jodie Carol Thomas, 45, of Brunswick, were taken into custody following a traffic stop.
The Frederick Police Street Crimes Team, doing enforcement along Key Parkway and Willowdale Drive, noticed a car without its headlights on. The vehicle was pulled over and officers made contact with Mayhew and Thomas.
They say both were acting nervous, and a police canine was called to the scene. The dog indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search was conducted, and a blue container with suspected crack cocaine was found.
Mayhew and Thomas were taken to the Detention Center for an appearance before a court commissioner.
