They’re charged with drug offenses.
Thurmont, Md (KM) Thurmont Police have charged a man and a woman from Baltimore with drug offenses. Dwayne E. Elliott, 48, and Kimberly L. Diggs, 41, were arrested this week.
Authorities say they began their investigation late Tuesday night after hearing complaints that drug paraphernalia was being dumped in the trash containers at the 7/11 Store on North Church Street. Officers were informed that the two may be hiding in a room at the nearby Rambler Motel.
They were given permission to enter the room, but didn’t find the two suspects. However, they saw suspected drugs and paraphernalia in plain sight. Police obtained a search warrant and located numerous drugs, a 45-caliber handgun and a sawed-off shotgun.
Elliott is charged with 17 counts of possession of controlled dangerous substances, including cocaine, heroin, oxycontin and alprazolam; possession with intent to distribute drugs; possession of paraphernalia, and conspiracy to possess and distribute drugs. He’s also charged with six firearms offenses. Because Elliott is a convicted felon, police say he’s prohibited for possessing a firearm.
Diggs is charged with 16 counts of possession of controlled dangerous substances, including cocaine, heroin, oxtycontin and alprzolam, possession with intent to distribute drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to possess and distribute drugs.
Both were taken to the Adult Detention Center.
