Frederick Man Sentenced To Federal Prison On Drug Offenses

Prosecutors say he was part of a drug trafficking network.

 

Baltimore, Md (KM)  A Frederick man is off to federal prison. In US District Court in Baltimore on Monday, Jonathan Robert Blackman, 32, was sentenced to 10 years incarceration for conspiracy to distribute and posses with intent to distribute heroin, powder and crack cocaine and marijuana, and possession with intent to distribute heroin, cocaine and marijuana..

In addition, Blackman will be put on 5-years  supervised release when he’s let out.  He  must forfeit $63,571, and a 12-gauge shotgun with an obliterated serial number.

The US Attorney’s Office for Maryland says law enforcement authorities began an investigation into a drug conspiracy and distribution of heroin and other drugs in Frederick County and the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Federal officials say Blackman was a member of this drug trafficking network. Investigators say through numerous calls and texts that Blackman was coordinating drug sales in the Frederick area.

Police obtained a search warrant and conducted a search of Blackman’s home. They found more $63,571 in cash, 300.5 grams of heroin, 16.4-grams of cocaine and 976 grams of marijuana.

In addition to the US Attorney’s Office, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security’s Investigations assisted in this case.
