Investigators say the cause was accidental.
Knoxville, Md. (KM) A house fire in Washington County Thursday morning caused an estimated $100,000 to the structure, and $50,000 to the contents.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says 56 fire fighters responded to the one-alarm blaze at 2237 Boteler Road in Knoxville shortly before 4:00 AM, and spent 15-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was injured.
Investigators say the fire was accidental, caused by a malfunctioning refrigerator. The fire originated in the kitchen and was discovered by the occupants, who are being assisted by the Red Cross.
