Thurmont, Md (KM) A Frederick County company is expanding. Playground Specialists has completed a 21,000 square-foot facility on Apples Church Road in Thurmont to house its local headquarters. This expansion is expected to create 25 new jobs.
An official grand opening was held on Monday at the recently completed building.
In a statement, Playground Specialists said it decided to grow its headquarters after singing a new contract, and expanding its services into Kentucky. The company works with customers in Maryland, Washington DC, West Virginia and Virginia.
It purchased 11-acres for its new facility on Apples Church Road last year.
“We feel this new headquarters will provide us room to expand into many new opportunities,” says Jeff Barber, founder and owner of Playground Specialists. “Our company has grown each year, mainly because this team of people love what they do and love where we work. This place is not only much larger, but designed to be fun and functional for everything we need.”
Playground Specialists works with commercial customers to provide everything from design and installation of playgrounds. The company says it prides itself on designing to meet the needs of all children, while providing a fun place to play. The company works with schools, churches, recreation departments, homeowner associations and more.
