Investigators received reports from 11 women who say their purses or wallets were stolen from a school classroom or office by an unknown suspect.
ROCKVILLE, Md. (DG) – Montgomery County Police have charged a Germantown man with stealing purses and wallets from women at nine different Montgomery County Schools and daycare centers.
Police say the thefts happened between May and June.
Investigators received reports from 11 women who say their purses or wallets were stolen from a school classroom or office by an unknown suspect. The victims’ stolen credit cards were then used to purchase items at stores, including Target, Safeway, Best Buy, and Giant.
On July 7th, detectives released a photo of the suspect. He was later identified as 39-year-old Nakym Sheffield.
Sheffield was arrested on July 15th and charged with multiple counts of credit card fraud related offenses.
