Washington DC. (KM) Some federal money is coming to Hagerstown Regional–Richard A. Henson Field Airport. The FAA is providing the airport with $250,375 to purchase a deicing vehicle to make sure aircraft are safe during inclement Weather.
The funds come from the FAA’s Airport Improvements Program, which provides funding for arious types of improvements including runways, taxiways, and airport signage, lighting and markings.
“Hagerstown Regional Airport is a hub for regional economic activity, serving as a key link between the local community and businesses,” says Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md), whose office issued the announcement about the grant.. “This federal funding enables necessary enhancements to an important Western Maryland resource. I will continue working to ensure that this airport has what it needs to continue safe, secure and efficient operations.”
