He was taken into custody following a two-vehicle crash.
Woodbine, Md (KM) Maryland State Police arrested a Baltimore County man in connection with a two-vehicle crash in Howard County early Wednesday morning. Authorities say 23-year-old Jordan Wiley, 23, of Windsor Mill is suspected of driving under the influence.
At around 1:00 AM Wednesday, troopers from the Waterloo Barrack responded to the crash on Interstate 70 near Woodbine. They say Austin Metzler, 18, of Elkridge, was traveling eastbound on I-70 when his Volkswagen left the left edge the roadway, struck a guardrail, got back on the highway and his vehicle became disabled.
State Police say Wiley, who was traveling in a BMW, did not see Metzler’s vehicle in the roadway. He collided with the Volkswagen. Both vehicles came to rest against the guardrail in the center median.
Metzler was taken by ambulance to Shock Trauma.. Wiley was arrested at the scene. They were the only occupants of each vehicle, State Police say.
Troopers say the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
