Eldersburg, Md. (KM) Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies apprehended a suspect in an attempted carjacking Tuesday morning in Eldersburg.
Authorities were dispatched to the 1800 block of Fallstaff Court just after 9:00 AM. They learned that a black male used force to take a victim’s keys in an attempt to get her car. But the victim and a female passenger got into an argument and were able to retrieve the car keys.
The suspect fled on foot; he was apprehended two hours later. Further investigation revealed he also committed a theft at the Wal-Mart store in Eldersburg, the Sheriff’s Office says.
The suspect has been charged with carjacking, robbery, 2nd-degree assault and theft over $1,000
As of Tuesday afternoon, deputies say the suspect’s name is still under investigation, but they say he’s 45-year-old man from Baltimore.
