It’s an effort for the felines to go to a home for the holidays.
HAGERSTOWN, MD. The Humane Society of Washington County is waiving cat and kitten adoption fees for the remainder of the year in an effort to send all shelter felines “home for the holidays.”
Cat and kitten adoption fees will be waived through December 31st.
“It breaks my heart to think of these beautiful animals without families of their own during the holiday,” said Kat Cornell, Director of Operations and Adoption Center. “We love the cats in our care, but a shelter is not a home. Please consider adoption and save a life this Christmas.”
Pictures of all adoptable cats can be found on the shelter website, www.hswcmd.org. Adoptable animals have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, appropriately vaccinated and given worm and flea preventatives prior to being placed up for adoption. The HSWC also provides adopters with a complimentary health visit at a participating veterinarian, as well as an option for 30 days of free health insurance for their new family member. These services are valued at nearly $450.
Adopted felines will also be sent home with a complimentary holiday gift bag, which includes a container of catnip and several toys.
