All occupants got out safely.
Sharpsburg, Md (KM) Fire damaged a pizza place in Sharpsburg early Monday morning.
Fire fighters were dispatched to Ge-Ge’s Place at 208 South Church Street just before 4:00 AM, and spend 45-minutes bringing the flames under control. There were no injuries.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says damage is estimated at $600,000 to the building, and $150,000 to the contents.
The building is a two-story, masonry commercial restaurant with four bedroom apartments above. Five people who were inside of the building escaped unharmed. Two family dogs are missing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the Fire Marshal’s Office say it originated in the first floor which is the restaurant.
The family is being assisted by the Red Cross, along with otherĀ family and friends.
