Frederick, MD (KK) – A project to replace a structurally deficient bridge will begin soon in Carroll County. The State Highway Administration will replace the bridge on Lineboro Road over the Gunpowder River. Workers will build the new bridge next to the existing one to minimize impacts on drivers.
“The new bridge will have 12 foot lanes with 5 foot shoulders. Adding shoulders to the bridge will make it safer for bicyclists and pedestrians to utilize the Maryland 86 bridge, which is designed as a scenic byway,” said Charlie Gischlar with the State Highway Administration.
The project is expected to be complete in spring of 2012.
