Frederick, Md (KM) One of the drivers involved in a two-vehicle crash on Route 15 near Catoctin Hollow Road on March 29th, 2018 has died. Jeffrey Davidson, 68, passed away over the weekend..
Maryland State Police say he was the driver of a Mazda which was traveling north along Route 15 when it went off the right side of the roadway, and struck a guardrail. Davidson’s vehicle continued north on Route 15, crossed the median and entered the southbound lanes, colliding with a pickup truck.
Davidson was medivaced to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. State Police did not identity the driver of the Mazda at the time of the crash, saying they needed to notify his family. But they said he had life threatening injuries
Davidson died Saturday, April 7th. .
The operator of the pickup, identified as Jon Phebus, 50, of Gettysburg, Pa. was not hurt.
Davidson was a Town Councilman in Herndon, Virginia. In an on line statement, Herndon Mayor Lisa Merkel, said the town’s flags are being lowered to half staff in Davidson’s memory. “The Council and I are keeping his family in our thoughts,”: Merkel says.
