He was arrested on Wednesday.
Hagerstown, Md (KM) The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested a Clear Spring man for setting his mother’s apartment on fire.. Brian Keith Welch, 21, is charged with 1st-and 2nd-degree arson, malicious burning, and 1st- and 2nd-degree malicious destruction of property.
On February 27th, 2018, 66 fire fighters were dispatched to a three-story apartment building at 40 North Conococheague Street in Williamsport for a fire located in one of the apartments. The flames caused $75,000 damage.
Investigators say say Welch used a stove to intentionally set cardboard boxes on fire inside of the apartment.
He was taken into custody Wednesday at 3:00 PM at the State Police Barrack in Hagerstown, and then transported without incident to Washington County Central Booking.
