A passenger suffered serious injuries.
Hagerstown, Md (KM) Maryland State Police say additional charges could be filed against a Hagerstown man who was arrested on Tuesday afternoon for driving under the influence following a motorcycle accident.
Authorities say Gregory Scott Schoen, 38, was operating his Harley Davidson Glide in the southbound lane of Leitersburg Pike near Longmeadow Road northeast of Hagerstown, passing other vehicles. A witness told troopers that Schoen entered the opposing lane, .where he encountered a vehicle heading in the opposite direction. That caused him to swerve back into the southbound lane. As a result, his passenger, Kaleigh Grace Barr, 29, was thrown off the motorcycle.
State Troopers say the original report they received said she was run over by another vehicle. However, they say, she was not run over. Barr came to rest on the southbound shoulder, striking her head against the pavement, causing her helmet to come off.
Barr sustained serious injuries and was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. She was released on Wednesday.
Schoen pulled over his motorcycle without incident.
State Police say the field sobriety test was administered to Schoen, and his blood alcohol content was recorded .10, which is over the legal limit.
The investigation into this crash is continuing.
