Roving saturation patrols followed.
Hagerstown, Md (KM)) One DUI arrest was made Friday during a sobriety checkpoint in Washington County. The operation was set up at the Dual Highway and Crest View Road in Hagerstown.
State Police say nine troopers, one Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy and two Hagerstown Police patrol officers took part. Authorities say the operation targeted drivers impaired by alcohol, drugs or a combination of the two. But while DUI detection is the goal, Maryland State Police say raising public awareness and prevention of impaired driving is the primary goal.
The Checkpoint was followed by roving saturation patrols looking for impaired drivers.
Throughout the operation, 752 vehicle contacts were made. There were 25 traffic stops, 25 citations, 20 warnings and one repair order.
