Westminster, Md. (DG) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in an accident Saturday afternoon in Westminster.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 400 Block of John Owings Road at around 2:30 PM for a report of a vehicle collision.
When emergency crews arrived, they found a motorcycle off the roadway on its side. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the motorcycle was traveling east on John Owings Road. The motorcycle left the roadway traveling for a short distance before reentering the road where it lost control and slid across the roadway and onto the shoulder.
The motorcycle was driven by 56-year-old Carl David Lehr. He was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment.
Police are continuing their investigation.
