One man medivaced with ‘life threatening but stable’ injuries.
Libertytown, Md (KM) A mobile home in the Libertytown area is considered a “total loss’ following a fire late Wednesday morning.
Fire fighters from Frederick and Carroll Counties responded to 14,042 Black Ankle Road at around 11:15 AM, and found fire throughout the home, according to Chief Ben Nalborcyzk of the New Market Volunteer Fire Department. “They deployed a tack line to break the fire. There were minor smoke issues, but, luckily, no extension of the fire outside of the building of origin.,” he says.
Fortunately, all of the occupants got out of the home, says Chief Nalborcyzk. “There is one civilian injury who is being flown to Bayview Hospital in Baltimore by MSP {Maryland State Police} Trooper Three. And was treated by the medic ambulance from WInfield,” the Chief says. The Winfield Community and Fire Department is located in Sykesville.
He describes the man’s injuries as “life threatening but stable.”
As of Wednesday, an origin and cause investigation was underway by the County Fire Marshal’s Office, and there was no official damage estimate from the blaze.
About 60 fire fighters from Frederick and Carroll Counties responded to the blaze, and spent 30-minutes bringing the flames under control.
